In addition to studying scripture and Church teachings, the group also gathers for special dinners and activities throughout the year. Mother's Prayer Group

The Mother's Prayer group meets on the second Sunday evening of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Family Life Office. The meetings consist of prayer, discussion and support to help the women of our parish live out their vocation as wife and mother. The group recently read and discussed Left to Tell, Immaculee Ilibagiza's inspiring story of surviving the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The group is currently discussing Raising Up Mommy: Virtues for Difficult Mothering Moments. There are currently 14 moms in the group from a variety of backgrounds and families. Others are always welcome to join. For more information contact Lindy Meyer.

Elizabeth and Family to Family Ministries

These special ministries to families, is modeled after the sharing between the Blessed Mother and her cousin Elizabeth. These two women rejoiced and shared in the joys and struggles of their pregnancies and family life together. In years past, women would gather at the well or the river as they cared for their families. In more recent years, women hung laundry on the clothes line and visited with their neighbor. In today's modern society we do laundry within our own homes and conveniently get water from the tap at a moment's notice, all from within our home. We have busy schedules and don't have the opportunity to share and bond as Mary and Elizabeth once did. But, women and families still need that support and sharing through the joys, sorrows, failures and successes of family life. A group of women in our parish have volunteered to be a part of the Elizabeth Ministry. Central to this ministry is the one-on-one visits to women and families during pregnancy, after a baby is born, after a miscarriage, after adoption or during a sickness in the family. A special group of women in the parish have also volunteered to bring meals and other assistance to families during times of need. If you would like to be involved in this ministry, need this ministry or know someone who does, contact Lindy Meyer at 243-4359 or email at: olphfamilylife@gmail.com. Visit the webpage of the national Elizabeth Ministry Organization for more information on this special outreach ministry.
